Former JUDAS PRIEST Axeman K.K. Downing Pens Memoir.

Early Fall release for 'Heavy Duty; Days & Nights In Judas Priest'

January 31, 2018

Former JUDAS PRIEST guitarist K.K. Downing is the latest rocker to pull back the curtain on life in a Heavy Metal Rock & Roll Band. The guitarist, who left Priest in 2010, has penned the 300+ page book, 'Heavy Duty; Days & Nights in Judas Priest,' and it is scheduled for release in September. Written with Mark Eglington, Downing delves into the back-stories, the secrets, and as the synopsis of the book states, "the complex personality conflicts, the business screw-ups, the acrimonious relationship with fellow heavy metal band Iron Maiden, as well as how Judas Priest found itself at the epicenter of a storm of parental outrage that targeted heavy metal in the ’80s." Judas Priest has been credited as a trend-setter in both the look and sound of Heavy Metal, and Downing discusses the band's place in music history as well as his role in the group and his departure some 8 years ago... The release date for 'Heavy Duty; Days & Nights in Judas Priest' is September 18th through Da Capo Press. Since Downing left Judas Priest, talented guitarist Richie Faulkner has filled the bill along with the band's other heritage guitar player, Glenn Tipton, and Priest are readying the release of their 18th studio album, 'Firepower' which comes out in March, followed by a North American tour. Rock On!
