Sabres send Tennyson to Rochester

January 26, 2018

As the Buffalo Sabres head into the NHL All-Star break, the team has assigned defenseman Matt Tennyson to the Rochester Americans.

The 27-year old was called up on Tuesday after defenseman Nathan Beaulieu was placed on injured reserve and sent back to Buffalo to be evaluated for a concussion. However, he did not dress for the Sabres' last two games against the Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks.

In 23 games this season with the Amerks, Tennyson has one assist with a minus-7 rating. He went pointless in 14 games earlier this season with the Sabres.

The Amerks are back in action on Friday night against the Toronto Marlies from the Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto.
