Team Russia has a former Sabre on its team for the Olympics

(WGR 550) - Team Russia has announced their roster for the upcoming Olympic games, and you will probably recognize a few names.

Former NHL greats Pavel Datsyuk and Ilya Kovalchuk are on the team, as is a former Buffalo Sabres' first round pick.

Forward Mikhail Grigorenko has also made the club. Buffalo took him 12th overall in the 2012 NHL Draft. He played 68 games with the Sabres, scoring six goals and eight assists for 14 points.

Grigorenko was traded to Colorado as part of the Ryan O’Reilly deal. He flamed out there after playing 149 games, scoring 16 goals and 34 assists for 50 points.

This season, Grigorenko is in the KHL with CSKA Moscow. In 45 games, he has 10 goals and 13 assists for 23 points.
