McDermott on Jags defense: "They're loaded"

January 5, 2018

Sean McDermott is just a couple days away from coaching his first playoff game as a head coach in the NFL. He may have to do it without his best player on offense. As LeSean McCoy is looking like a game time decision to play. McDermott updated everyone on all the injuries, as well as gave his final thoughts before playing the Jaguars on Sunday.

Here's some of the best from McDermott's presser.

On how he's been treated in the community this week:
“I got a letter this week from a first grade class wishing us luck. It’s truly been unbelievable to see the support for this team throughout the community.”

On his confidence in the run game without McCoy:
"Confidence is there in Mike and Murph. That's been the approach all season long. Next man up, keeping 63 guys ready. We'll continue to do that."

On Jacksonville secondary:
"Talent overall, length, you see it. Sometimes number one picks don't work out. They've hit on a number of them. They're loaded with them, and they play at a high level. Fast, very little separation, tight windows in the pass game."

On how the team's chances look ahead of Sunday:
"Confident in our system. Guys have put in a good week of practice. Fundamentally, we spent a lot of time on proper fundamentals. Think we're in a good place."
