Bills lead Dolphins 10-0 in the 2nd quarter

December 31, 2017

The Buffalo Bills are alive in the playoff race in Week 17 for the first time since 2004. For the regular season finale, a meeting with the Miami Dolphins. To make the playoffs the Bills need to win, and get losses from either the Ravens OR both the Chargers and Titans. Ending the playoff drought at 17 years would certaintly be an incredible New Year's present for Bills fans everywhere. There are so many headlines for this game, including that it may be the last game we see Tyrod Taylor in a Bills uniform. It also may be the last game of Jay Cutler's career.

An interesting note for today's game, both the Miami Herald and Adam Schefter have reported that the Dolphins could take a look at 3rd string quarterback David Fales at some point in this game. Fales is a 6th round pick from 2014, that has just 7 career pass attempts.

Here are the official inactives for the Bills.

The Bills got off to a perfect start. Stopping the Dolphins to a 3 and out, and E.J. Gaines nearly picked off Jay Cutler on a 3rd and 7. The Bills offense followed that up with a near perfect drive. Seven plays, 72 yards, capped off by a 26-yard Nick O'Leary touchdown.

Adam Gase made a surprising move early in the 1st quarter, putting David Fales in at quarterback for the Dolphins second drive. Fales led the Dolphins on a big drive, but Adam Gase's decision to go for it on 4th down, resulted in a turnover on downs.

The Bills did drive down for a 23-yard Haushcka field goal to extend the lead. Taylor just overthrew Nick O'Leary, who was wide open once again for a touchdown. Taylor did play well throughout the first half, but LeSean McCoy couldn't find room to run. Staying in negative yards until the half.
