Gamenight: Bailey makes it 1-0 Sabres in first period

October 15, 2017

Justin Bailey was recalled from the AHL earlier today, and has given Buffalo a 1-0 lead less than two minutes into the game against the Anaheim Ducks. Check back throughout the game for updates.

Bailey's first goal of the season was assisted by Nathan Beaulieu and Johan Larsson after keeping the puck in the offensive zone and putting the puck to the front of the net. John Gibson was out of position as Bailey slid the backhand shot into the net. Buffalo controlled the play for the first four minutes of the game, holding a 6-1 edge in shots on goal.

Evander Kane was called for the game's first penalty, an elbowing minor, just under five minutes into the game. The Ducks had several chances on the man advantage, but good defense in front of the net helped the blue and gold kill off the penalty. Jake McCabe had a key block, and Chad Johnson helped his own cause to keep Buffalo in front by a goal.
