ZZ TOP Documentary Hits The Big Screen In Mid-August

'That Lil' Ol' Band From Texas' will premiere in Hollywood

Coinciding with the beginning of ZZ TOP's 50 Anniversary Tour will be the upcoming release of 'That Lil' Ol' Band From Texas,' a documentary that celebrates one of Rock & Roll's most iconic and enduring outfits. The movie will open in Hollywood on August 13th with all 3 Top members attending. A full schedule of showings in select North American cities (to begin in the Fall) will be released shortly at the movie's web site. From a statement announcing the film: “Produced by the Emmy award-winning Banger Films, ZZ Top: That Little Ol’ Band From Texas tells the story of how three oddball teenage bluesmen – Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard – became one of the biggest, most beloved bands on the planet, all while maintaining a surrealist mystique that continues to intrigue fans and entice onlookers 50 years after the band’s inception” Of the movie, ZZ Top's BIlly Gibbons remarked, “I think even our most steadfast fans will find themselves surprised by what they learn about those men behind the beards and cheap sunglasses.
