Out of all of the ways that Music Lovers have (and have had) to enjoy their music--vinyl albums & 45 rpm 'singles,' , 8-track tapes, cassettes, CD's, mp3's, etc. it's the self-proclaimed 'Vinyl Junkies' that have helped their favorite music medium stay popular and relevant...And with those fans of the 12" 'long-players' in mind, ZZ TOP has announced the re-release of their first 5 albums in a new high-grade vinyl collection called, "Cinco." The 5 recordings, ZZ Top’s First Album, Rio Grande Mud, Tres Hombres, Fandango! and Tejas, are being released on heavyweight 180-gram vinyl and will be available in early June. And for those ZZ TOP fans who complained long and loud about the re-mixed sound on previous re-issues (1987's 'Six Pack' collection), they'll be pleased to know that the original mixes were used for the reissues... To review, longtime fans have complained over the years that the ’80s’ remixes of these early albums was NOT indicative at all of the TOP's original, gritty, blues boogie that they remember hearing on their vinyl LPs. Additionally, for fans who have never heard the original mixes, it should be a welcome revelation. The ZZ 3 are currently on their "Tonnage Tour" which will also include a series of 8 shows in their home state of Texas. Rock On!
