The album '1000 Hands' literally 'decades in the making'

Singer JON ANDERSON, known primarily as the lead singer for YES, has also had a lengthy and successful solo career, with a total of 14 solo albums released since 1996. His most recent work was 2011's 'Survival And Other Stories,' and now after a 7+ year hiatus, the 75-year old Classic Rocker is prepping the release (March 31) of his 15th solo effort, '1000 Hands,' and a 2 month early Spring solo tour that will begin a few weeks before the album's release. (see itinerary below) Although '1000 Hands' comes almost 8 years since his previous solo album, this particular work had it's beginnings in the 1990's, and as the title of the new record implies, there are 'other hands' helping him on the new release. Collaborators include his YES band mates Trevor Horn, Rick Wakeman, Steve Howe, Alan White, and the Prog-Rock band's legendary founder/bassist, Chris Squire. Outside of the Yes family, Anderson is joined by Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), Violinist Jean Luc Ponty, Jonathan Cain (Journey), Chick Corea, Billy Cobham, and guitarists Pat Travers and Rick Derringer. Anderson first started work on the album in 1990, yet it was always 'shelved' when the duties of recording/touring took precedence. Although it is not included on the track listing for '1000 Hands,' Anderson released a new song earlier just before Christmas called 'Love Is Everything,' which you can check out below. Jon Anderson is thrilled with the results of the new album, calling the musicianship, "mesmerizing," and offering that, he is "overjoyed to let people hear this project and to be able to tour… it will be another highlight in my life." Mr. Anderson has created a Facebook page for the new endeavor, and fans can both preview and pre-order a copy of '1000 Hands' at his website. Rock ON, Jon Anderson!
