The month of Roctober is bringing with it a number of notable box sets/re-issues as well as new music from some Rock & Roll 'friends' we haven't heard from in a while... The first new recordings from former-Journey lead singer STEVE PERRY is the highlight of the month, with the singer's 'Traces' LP due October 5th. Also in the first week of the tenth month will be new releases from ELVIS COSTELLO, and (former) KISS guitarist ACE FREHLEY, who will issue his 'Spaceman' album, featuring 8 new songs as well as a 'cover' of Eddie Money's song, 'I Wanna Go Back.'  Two very notable box sets will be available on October 5th as well: Solo Anthology: The Best of Lindsey Buckingham, a 3-disc collection of the singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist's solo recordings that will also spotlight 'live' versions of some of his favorite Fleetwood Mac songs. That same week will see the release of 'Imagine-The Ultimate Collection that offers 140 tracks spread out over 6 discs, along with a wealth of other materials to herald JOHN LENNON's most well known solo work. Other box sets on the release schedule include 'Loving The Alien,' an 11-disc collection of DAVID BOWIE's work covering the years 1983-1988, R.E.M.'s 'R.E.M. At The BBC,' WHITESNAKE's 5-CD 'Unzipped' collection, and The KINKS 5-disc 'The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society.' In advance of the 'Bohemian Rhapsody' biopic about Queen singer FREDDIE MERCURY comes the soundtrack album which include recordings from Queen's legendary 1985 appearance at Live Aid. And with Christmas on the horizon, look for the 1st ever album of Christmas tunes from ERIC CLAPTON, AND WILLIAM SHATNER, 'Shatner Claus: The Christmas Album,' which touts guest performances from Billy Gibbons, Rick Wakeman, Iggy Pop, Todd Rundgren, Elliot Easton!
