Announcing the 2018 Rock & Roll (Music) Hall of Fame Inductees: Dire Straits, The Moody Blues, The J. Geils Band, The Cars, The Zombies, Bon Jovi, MC5, Rage Against The Machine, Kate Bush, Eurythmics, Depeche Mode, The Meters, Link Wray, Rufus f/Chaka Khan, Radiohead, and Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Nine of the acts are nominated for the first time since they became eligible. Voting for the final nominees (to be announced in December) will be undertaken by 900+ Artists, Historians, & Music Industry members, and is also open to fans, who can register their votes at until December 5th. (Voting requires a Facebook login, and there is a limit of one ballot per day) An artist or band becomes eligible for inclusion to the Rock Hall after 25 years have passed since their first commercial release.  And as is the case almost every year, the list of artists who are still not in the HOF after being eligible for consideration still has many music fans scratching their heads...Among those passed over this year include Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Pantera, & Soundgarden. They join the list of other seemingly deserving acts--Jethro Tull, Warren Zevon, Roxy Music, Todd Rundgren, Emerson, Lake, & Palmer, The Doobie Brothers, and others-who have been 'snubbed' in years past. And just for curiosity's sake, here's a list of 15 artists/performers who became eligible this year for nomination (but are unlikely to be nominated). Rock On!
