BEFORE all of the various concert/performance videos of JIMI HENDRIX were discovered and released commercially, there was 1973's 'A Film About Jimi Hendrix...' The documentary showcased Hendrix performances from the period of 1967 thru 1970, with footage taken from  the Monterey Pop Festival, the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival, Woodstock and a concert in Berkeley, California. The film also includes interviews with Hendrix' contemporaries, family and friends. (Eric Clapton, Pete Townshend, Mick Jagger, Little Richard, & others) Of ALL the performances featured in the film, NONE (IMO) are as stunning and captivating as Jimi's version of the Blues classic, "Hear My Train A' Comin." This is a song that Jimi Hendrix had previously performed on his signature Fender Stratocaster, but this is the only acoustic performance in existence. It bears (IMO) repeated viewings. Rock On!
