The list of new Rock & Roll releases slated for August includes a trio of very cool 'live' releases, with the most eagerly anticipated being 'Live At Woodstock' from Creedence Clearwater Revival. Unreleased since it was first performed 50 years ago, the much sought after complete Woodstock performance from C.C.R. is being issued 'officially' for the first time! '50 Live' is the title of the new concert recording from YES, recorded in Philadelphia during their (2018) 50th Anniversary Tour, and boasts appearances/performances from 10 previous and current members of the Prog-Rock pioneers. The 3rd live set comes from The King, Elvis Presley, whose critically acclaimed and celebrated 1969 'Comeback' TV special (recorded at Las Vegas' International Hotel) will be spread out over 11 discs! Upcoming box sets for the month include the 6 CD, 45th Anniversary box set from Bad Company, 'The Swan Song Years 1974-1982,' 'The Epic Years 1972-1976' from Poco (5CDs), and ZZ Top's 50th Anniversary collection, 'Goin' 50.' There are some new recordings on tap as well: Heavy Metal Mavens Slipknot will release their next LP, 'We Are Not Your Kind' on August 9th, followed (August 30th) by the first new album in 13 years from Tool. Singer/Songwriter Sheryl Crow is back with a star-studded effort called, Threads,' that features guest appearances from Joe Walsh, Keith Richards, Stevie Nicks, and Don Henley, among others. (check out her verison of Dylan's 'Everything Is Broken' below!) A pair of 50th Anniversary re-releases are also included in the August line-up, including the debut album from Chicago Transit Authority, and Arlo Guthrie's 50th Anniversary Original Motion Picture Soundtrack album for 'Alice's Restaurant.' Now, go get 'em and enjoy!
