The first new studio recording in 5 years from BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, and a mammoth 14-disc set of BOB DYLAN's 'Rolling Thunder Revue' Tour are among the highlights of new music scheduled for release in June. And for those who either can't travel to or afford the concert experience, there are a number of cool, upcoming 'live' sets on tap as well. Springsteen's 'Western Stars' album has a June 14th release date, with The Boss presenting a collection of new music inspired by some of the great Pop recordings that originated in Southern California in the 1960's & 70's. June 7 will mark the arrival of the long-awaited 14-CD chronicle of Dylan's critically acclaimed 'Rolling Thunder Revue' tour of 1975, which will precede by 5 days the Netflix release of the Martin Scorsese-directed documentary of the tour. Other Rock veterans who will have new music available include Neil Young ('Tuscaloosa'), Santana ('Africa Speaks), Chris Robinson Brotherhood ('Servants of the Sun'), and Peter Frampton ('All Blues'). In addition to the big ol' box of Dylan, there are a significant number of really excellent 'live' recordings coming in June: The Rolling Stones will re-release their (expanded) 1968 TV concert special, 'Rock & Roll Circus,' as well as yet another archival Stones' concert ('Bridges To Bremen' from 1988) on DVD & CD. The Doobie Brothers will issue 'Live From the Beacon Theatre' featuring complete performances of 2 of the band's classic 1970's albums. Generation Axe 'The Guitars That Destroyed the World' (Live in China) [f/ Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, Zakk Wylde, Nuno Bettencourt], Gov't Mule 'Bring On the Music: Live at the Capitol Theatre' (CD/DVD), Roger Daltrey's 'The Who's Tommy Orchestral,' and the 38 disc 'Woodstock 50: Back to the Garden' complete musical collection round out some of the more notable releases.
