The ORIGINAL 'Rock Grrrrrl,' JOAN JETT is the subject of a new documentary film that will be shown at next year's (January) Sundance Film Festival. Directed by Kevin Kerslake (with more than 100 music videos/short films to his credit!) the film's title, 'Bad Reputation,' is taken from the title song of Ms. Jett's 1980 debut album, after she had left the all-girl group, The Runaways. (The Runaways also included LITA FORD & CHERIE CURRIE) The Sundance Film website describes the film as "a look at the life of Joan Jett, from her early years as the founder of The Runaways and first meeting collaborator Kenny Laguna in 1980 to her enduring presence in pop culture as a rock ‘n’ roll pioneer."  This year's film fest includes 110 independent films from 29 countries, and 'Bad Reputation' was one of the films selected from a total of over 13 THOUSAND entries. This documentary will not be the first time that Joan Jett has been on the big screen...she starred with Michael J. Fox in 1987's 'Light of Day,' and also had a brief appearance with Billy Jo Armstrong (Green Day) in the movie, 'Ordinary World.' Additionally, Joan Jett's music has been featured on many a film soundtrack over the years. Rock On, Joan Jett!
