Ace Guitarist STEVE LUKATHER, mostly known as the lead guitar slinger (and sometime singer) for the band TOTO (Hold The Line, Rosanna, Africa) has announced a mid-September release of a new memoir titled, 'The Gospel According To Luke.' Touted by the book's publisher as the “outrageous and often hilarious autobiography of [the] legendary session musician and lead guitarist and singer of Toto. No one explodes one of the longest-held misconceptions of music history better than Steve Lukather and his band Toto. During the waning days of Disco and the advent of Punk Rock in the late 1970's, Toto's music was the complete antithesis of those musical genres, instead offering up a slick and polished Rock/R&B sound honed by years of being an elite group of studio session musicians. The individual musicians also contributed (while still w/ Toto) to many hugely successful recordings of the era, including 'Thriller' from Michael Jackson. Lukather's guitar work has been featured on lots of albums by lots of performers, including: Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks and Elton John, Miles Davis, Joni Mitchell, Bruce Springsteen, Don Henley, Roger Waters and Aretha Franklin. The publisher's statement also promises that the book "tells the complete Toto story. He also lifts the lid on what went on behind the closed studio doors, shedding light on the unique creative processes of some of the most legendary names in music."  BIG Statistic: The members of Toto have appeared on more than 5,000 albums, and share the credit of 225 Grammy Award nominations!  The book is scehduled for release on September 18th, and will feature a foreword by guitarist Steve Vai. Rock On, Steve Lukather & Toto!
