There are many irrefutable facts about Heritage Aussie Rockers AC/DC, chief among them that the band is one of the greatest rock/boogie bands ever, Angus Young is an amazing guitarist, and that the band is loved and revered the world over. Also: Angus Young's brother Malcolm was one of the greatest rhtyhm guitarists EV-AH (IMO) and he would appear in the studio and on stage, cranking out that mad rhythm with his beat-up, stripped down Gretsch 'Jet' guitar. Of his brother's guitar skills, Angus Young said, “I mean, as soon as you hear that first… chord, you know it’s him. “To do this… you have to be a master of rhythm, and that’s exactly what Mal [was].” In tribute to the late rocker, Gretsch guitars will be issuing a 'Tribute' model that will be available starting in November. The Gretsch G6131-MY Signature Jet will retail for close to $4000 and will re-create all the essential hallmarks of 'The Beast,' featuring a double-cutaway chambered mahogany body with a maple top, aged-white binding, a bound ebony fingerboard with 22 jumbo frets and Neo-Classic thumbnails. It is available in Aged Natural stain with black back and sides. Additionally, the axe will feature 2 empty cut-outs and screw holes to accurately mirror Malcolm's removal of 2 of the guitar's 3 pick-ups.
