For LED ZEPPELIN's 50th Anniversary year, the iconic Fender guitar company has announced a special, limited-edition Telecaster model that was modeled after JIMMY PAGE's famous axe.  Page's 1959 Telecaster was used to record Led Zep's 1st album, the incredible guitar solo on 'Stairway To Heaven, and was also used by Page for other Zep recordings as well as being the main guitar used during his time with The Yardbirds. The guitar is well known and recognized for it's 'mirror' and 'dragon' designs, and the planned 4 signature models will be available starting in January, 2019. Jimmy Page originally received the guitar as a gift from Jeff Beck as a gesture of thanks to Page for recommending that Beck join up with The Yardbirds, and of the famed guitar, Pagey said, “This guitar is so special and has so much history, so I approached Fender to see if they’d be interested in recreating it. They really got it 110 percent right, or 150 percent right. It's so absolutely as it is, as it should be, and as it was.”  With a chance to own a "piece of history," fans & collectors will have a choice of 4 different models to choose from: 2 models will be produced on the Fender production line, and 2 more will be made in the Fender Custom Shop, the latter of which will be offered as the “Limited Edition Jimmy Page Telecaster Set.” Only 50 of each “dragon” and “mirror” Fender Custom Shop model with Page’s handwritten signature on each headstock and his hand-painted flourishes on dragon models will be made available for sale. Not only did Jimmy Page approach Fender about making such a guitar, but he was also very actively involved in every aspect of the guitar's production. Fender Custom Shop Master Builder Paul Waller worked closely with Page over 8 months, and he said, “To achieve his vision, I wanted to get every little detail replicated exactly, so you couldn’t tell the difference from the originals and these models. That’s what we’re known for in the Fender Custom Shop: quality craftsmanship and authenticity.”
