ERIC CLAPTON has just announced a tribute/benefit concert to celebrate the musical life of his “dear friend” and former bandmate, Ginger Baker. The charity event, billed as Eric Clapton & Friends: A Tribute to Ginger Baker, will be held on February 17, 2020, at the Eventim Apollo Hammersmith in London, U.K. The Nov. 25 announcement promised the artist lineup was forthcoming. The announcement of the concert also noted, “The setlist for the concert will look to honor Baker’s lifetime in music and will, of course, include Clapton and Baker’s work together in Cream and Blind Faith.” Three days after the death of Mr. Baker in early October, Clapton posted a simple tribute to his friend and former band mate on social media with just the word, 'Ginger.' Eric followed that on October 31st with a short, instrumental take of the classic Irish song, 'Danny Boy,' which you can listen to here. Tickets for Eric Clapton & Friends: A Tribute to Ginger Baker' will be on sale starting November 29th, with tickets available here.
