The Cannes Film Festival, held every year in France, is a preview showcase for new, original, compelling, and unique films and documentaries. This year, the festival also included the winning entries for a contest that was co-sponsored by video channel, YOU TUBE, and ELTON JOHN, along with  and his long-time lyricist/collaborator, BERNIE TAUPIN. To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the duo's musical partnership, a competition was initiated to create new videos for 3 of Elton's most well-known and beloved songs: "Rocket Man," "Tiny Dancer," & "Bennie & The Jets." In his first public appearance since an illness sidelined him back in April, ELTON was on hand for the event to announce the winning entries, and was quoted as saying that he was "moved and amazed" at both the videos and the overall process. "The future of creativity is clearly collaborative, fusing art and technology, and it's been fantastic to open up our work to the next generation of creative talent and to share that process with the world on YouTube," he said. The winners were: Majid Adin's animated "Rocket Man," Director Jack Whitley and choreographer Laura Brownhill for "Bennie & The Jets," and Max Weiland for "Tiny Dancer" video. Check out the videos! Rock On!
