The original 4 members of 80's hard rockers, DOKKEN-Don Dokken, Jeff Pilson, George Lynch, & Mick Brown-just finished filming a video for their new song, "It's Just Another Day." The song marks the first collaboration of the band members since their 1997 'Shadowlife' album, and it will appear on their upcoming CD/DVD. Bassist Jeff Pilson posted recently on social media that the song "It's Just Another Day" "came out amazing," adding that "it's amazing how much it sounds like vintage DOKKEN." The classic line up of DOKKEN played only 1 'Reunion' show in the U.S. in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in September of 2016 (watch video below), then flew over to Japan for a half dozen shows that were dubbed, 'Unleashed In The East.' (it was the 1st time in over 21 years that the 4 originals hit the road together...) It's reported that 2 of the Japanese shows, plus the Sioux Falls performance will be featured on the upcoming DVD release as well as 3 new acoustic renderings of some older Dokken classics. The 'bad blood' between the members of Dokken is well known, but in a podcast this past Summer on Music Mania, Jeff Pilson (who currently plays w/ FOREIGNER) said that he "enjoyed" the DOKKEN reunion "quite a bit," explaining that "because of DOKKEN's history, I wasn't necessarily expecting to enjoy it personally as much as I did. But we ended up getting along great," he said. "We went out there and did the shows, and the audience reaction kind of made it all worthwhile right there."  In terms of the original DOKKEN members playing more reunion shows, Pilson offered up the '"Never say never" response, mentioning that trying to get the musician's schedules to sync up is difficult, but he remains "hopeful," saying, "I really enjoyed working with the guys again. And like I said, when you hear how strong the new song is, you're gonna be shocked that we ever took a break. So it's pretty cool, man." As for singer/leader Don Dokken, he recently said on the 'Classic Metal Show' that the main reason he doesn't want to continue with the classic DOKKEN lineup is that he "loves" the band he has now — which features Brown, alongside guitarist Jon Levin and bassist Chris McCarvill.
So, at the very least, there's the CD/DVD release coming up, and for the rest of 2018, we'll just have to wait & see if there'll be more 'Rockin' W/ Dokken!'
