APOCALYPTICA, the group of 4 Finnish classically trained, heavy metal lovin' musicians, have announced an early December release for 'Plays Metallica By Four Cellos-A Live Performance.' The 2-hour concert, recorded in their home country, showcases the 4 Cellists (and a drummer) on their extended 20th Anniversary Tour that honors their 1996 debut album, ''Plays Metallica By Four Cellos.' The live performance features only Metallica 'covers,' including a number of previously unreleased versions of Metallica songs by the 4 Finnish fiddlers. Additionally, the CD/digital download (and vinyl in the future) offers a different, complete concert (recorded in Helsinki) that shows a bit more of their heavier 'Rock' edge. The new set will be available as a 2CD+1DVD+digital download, and can be pre-ordered HERE. A more lavish 3LP+1CD+digital download release is planned for 2019. Apocalyptica's stunning, million-plus selling debut album was remastered and re-released with a few bonus tracks in 2016, and they have been on their 20th Anniversary Tour since early 2017. With a tour break coming up for the group, they thought that the time was right to drop the new live set. Highlights from the performance include 'Enter Sandman,' 'Seek & Destroy,' 'Master of Puppets,' and 'Nothing Else Matters,' which you can watch below. Rock ON, Apocalyptica!
