Another Career-Spanning Box Set Coming From THE WHO!

'Maximum As & Bs' Collects ALL of THE WHO's Singles & 'B-Sides...'

August 2, 2017

A massive, 5-disc set from THE WHO that collects ALL of their ‘singles’ & ‘B-sides’ released throughout their entire career is scheduled for release in October… The set, titled “Maximum As & Bs” will feature a total of 86 tracks (see track list below) taken from the labels that THE WHO recorded on starting in the early 1960’s, including: Brunswick, Track, Reaction, and Polydor.  Previously, collections of the singles from those 4 individual record labels were all released separately (on vinyl), but this will be the first time that the entire output of THE WHO’s single releases (and EP’s) are featured in one collection! The first 2 songs on the collection are “Zoot Suit,” and “I’m The Face,” which were recorded as The High Numbers, before the band adopted the name, The Who. From there, the box set features a healthy selection of some of their most popular songs, including “My Generation,” “Pinball Wizard,” “Won’t Get Fooled Again,” & “I Can’t Explain,” the latter song also featuring a 2014 ‘re-mix.’ The set also offers many obscure, hard-to-find songs and a handful of ‘live’ recordings. The only other WHO box set that’s been commercially released is “Thirty Years of Maximum R & B,” which was issued in 1994. “Maximum As & Bs” will be in stores October 27, coincidentally the same date as 2 other WHO re-releases: the compilation album, “Meaty, Beaty, Big, & Bouncy,” and the definitive (IMO) ‘Live’ album, “Live At Leeds.” Rock On!
