Ooops! Geddy Lee NOT sitting in with Yes when they're inducted into RRHOF

March 13, 2017

Former Yes singer Jon Anderson said something he shouldn't have while giving an interview about the band's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame coming up. He said that Geddy Lee of Rush, who will join his bandmate Alex Lifeson to induct Yes, would also be playing bass on "Roundabout" in place of the late Chris Squire. The RRHOF, which never announces what will be performed, quickly issued the following statement:

“Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson were only confirmed to do the induction speech for one of their favorite bands and not perform. They, like all the other Yes fans, look forward to honoring them and watching them perform at the induction ceremony on April 7th and the HBO broadcast on April 29th.”

But let's all be real, how many presenters over the years have found themselves on stage taking part in the end-of-the-night jam? A lot of them. I'd venture to say most of them.

Here's just one example of Chuck D. of Public Enemy, Darryl DMC McDaniels of Run DMC, Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart, Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters, all the members of Rush, John Fogerty, Tom Morello, Gary Clark Jr. and Chris Cornell onstage doing Clapton's "Crossroads" live.
