December 14, 2017

Philadelphia, PA (WGR 550) - The Sabres are on their longest, positive streak of the season. They have picked up points in four straight games upping their point percentage to .355.

One of the biggest reasons for the streak is tonight’s starting goalie Robin Lehner. He’s given up 10 goals in the four games which is a goals against of 2.41. He’s also seen 159 shots with a save percentage of .937.

Overall Lehner is 7-12-4 with a 2.87 goals against and .911 save percentage.

Evander Kane is on a five game point streak, while Jack Eichel has points in four of five games.

Buffalo is coming off a win against Ottawa where their best players were their best players. Kane, Eichel, Kyle Okposo, Rasmus Ristolainen and Benoit Pouliot all had points.

The Sabres have a power play goal in three straight games which is the second time all season that’s happened. They have not scored a PP goal in four straight games this season.

Phil Housley said Nate Beaulieu still has to get more strength and won’t play. It will be the same lineup that beat Ottawa.

Philadelphia had lost 10 straight games, but since then, they’ve won four in a row.

Scoring goals is not a problem for the Flyers as they’re 17th in the league at 2.90 goals per game.

With Brayden Schenn being traded to St. Louis, Sean Couturier has gotten a bigger opportunity and he’s responded with 15 goals and 30 points in 30 games.

Captain Claude Giroux has 34 points in 30 games while Jakub Voracek has 37 points in 30 games.

Wayne Simmonds has points in four consecutive games as does Michael Raffl.

Former Sabre Michal Neuvirth is out injured, so Brian Elliott has played in five straight games and 14 out of 15.

Elliott has only allowed seven goals in his last four games and has won them all.

Overall the former Flame is 10-6-6 with a 2.76 goals against and .912 save percentage.
