February 8, 2018

Buffalo, NY (WGR 550) - Jake McCabe is going to miss three-to-four weeks after having thumb surgery on Wednesday. McCabe had an injury-free season going as he had played in all 53 games. Phil Housley said, "It's tough, speaking to the doctors it's three to four weeks now, so it's difficult, but it gives other guys opportunity to get back in the lineup."

This season, he scored three goals and nine assists for 12 points.

Brendan Guhle has been listed day-to-day in Rochester since he was hurt on January 15. The Amerks say he has a lower-body injury. Phil Housley said, “Yes, he’s skating, he’s a day-to-day situation, so it’s good that he’s getting back on the ice and skating, he hasn’t done any practices yet, so he’s getting close.”
