Sabres' Eichel is a first time All Star

(WGR 550) - Jack Eichel will be playing in his first NHL All-Star Game. Eichel is one of six forwards taken for the Atlantic Division team for the 3-on-3 tournament.

Joining Eichel up front are Brad Marchand Boston, Aleksander Barkov Florida, Auston Matthews Toronto,  Stephen Stamkos Tampa Bay and Nikita Kucherov Tampa Bay.

On defense it’ll be Victor Hedman Tampa Bay, Erik Karlsson Ottawa and Mike Green Detroit.

In goal it’s Andrei Vasilevskiy Tampa Bay and Carey Price Montreal. John Cooper of the Lightning is the head coach.

In 43 games this season Eichel has 17 goals and 22 assists for 39 points.

The game is Jan. 28 in Tampa. 

Last season it was Kyle Okposo making the team. Zemgus Girgensons, Jason Pominville and Ryan O'Reilly have also represented the Sabres.
