Sabres' Bogosian is facing hip surgery

January 26, 2018

Buffalo, NY (WGR 550) - Zach Bogosian’s injury woes continue. The Sabres announced that the defenseman will have hip surgery next week.

The recovery time for that is four-to-six months. He’s expected to be ready for the start of next season.

In a statement Sabres general manager Jason Botterill said, “The news regarding Zach’s injury is unfortunate.

"Zach has been dealing with this injury since the beginning of the season. After consulting with our medical team, we felt that it was important to get this taken care of now so that he can be back to full strength and ready to contribute at the beginning of next season.”

Bogosian has only played 18 games this season as he started off with an injury he suffered in the final preseason game. He didn’t get into his first regular season game until Dec. 1.
