Sabres add former NHLer Komisarek to player development staff

August 1, 2017

The Buffalo Sabres have added another former NHLer to their player development coaching staff on Tuesday with the hiring of Mike Komisarek.

Komisarek, 35, spent eleven seasons in the National Hockey League with the Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs and Carolina Hurricanes. He finished his career with 14 goals and 81 points in 551 career games.

The former NHL defenseman retired in January of 2015 to join the University of Michigan Wolverines as an undergraduate assistant for the men's ice hockey program.

Komisarek now joins former NHLers Krys Barch and Adam Mair on the Sabres' player development staff, along with goalie development coach Seamus Kotyk.
