The Sabres have made their first move before Wednesday’s trade deadline and it’s pretty much an AHL deal.
Dan Catenacci heads to the New York Rangers for Mat Bodie.
Bodie, who was a member of Union’s National Championship team in 2014 has never played a NHL game.
In three seasons in Hartford, he played 196 games with 20 goals and 78 assists for 98 points.
Catenacci was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2011 draft. He played 11 games with the Sabres with no points. In 246 games with the Amerks, the forward had 43 goals and 46 assists for 89 points.
