Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling Working on 'Anti-Christmas' Movie Together

February 27, 2020

‘Tis the season for a mini-”90210” reunion.

After recently co-starring on the “Beverly Hills, 90210” reboot “BH90210” together, Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling are joining forces again to make a holiday movie with a twist.

“We are in development with ABC, co-creating and producing a movie for Christmastime. It’s not exactly your typical Christmas movie,” Garth told People.

While she described it as an “anti-Christmas movie,” the project also has a “Thelma & Louise” vibe.

“It’s a road trip romp with two women who are in certain places in their lives that have decided that they want to escape Christmas altogether,” she added.

Because they’ve been best friends for a long time, Garth says she and Spelling naturally enjoy working together.

“We really like each other. I think that’s key,” the 47-year-old said, before adding they also love each other for how they are also so different from each other. “I think that in those differences we both have a lot of respect for one another because we don’t need to be just alike to be best friends. I think that’s one of the things that works in our favor.”

Their yuletide production is just one in a long line of joint ventures between the two actresses.

The pair first met while making the ‘90s teen drama “Beverly Hills, 90210.” Years later, they reunited by reprising their roles of Kelly Taylor and Donna Martin in various episodes of the iconic show’s 2008 reboot, “90210.”

In 2014, they showed off their comedy chops in the short-lived ABC Family sitcom “Mystery Girls.”

Then last year, Garth and Spelling joined Shannen Doherty, Jason Priestley, Ian Ziering, Brian Austin Green and Gabrielle Carteris to relaunch the “Beverly Hills, 90210” brand by playing heightened versions of themselves in the revival, “BH90210.”

Unfortunately, the Fox series was canceled after one season.

Despite its sudden termination, Garth had teased that more episodes could be on their way and urged fans to “stay tuned.”

As of yet, no plans to bring back “BH90210” have been announced.
