The 23-year-old winger led the entire American Hockey League with 15 points (five goals and 10 assists) in 10 games played with 14 of those points coming during a seven-game point streak. Olofsson is also tied for the AHL lead with nine power play points (1+8) along with teammate Zach Redmond, and he scored two game-winning goals for the Amerks in their weekend series against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers back in mid-October.

The Amerks' first-year forward has played well in his first season in North America after making the transition from the Swedish Hockey League to the AHL this offseason. Last year with the Frölunda Indians in the SHL, Olofsson led the league with 27 goals in 50 games played.

Olofsson was Buffalo's seventh round pick (181st overall) back in the 2014 NHL Draft, and signed his two-year entry-level with the Sabres back on April 24.

The Amerks are back in action on Friday night when they host the Hershey Bears at Blue Cross Arena for a 7:05 p.m. faceoff. You can listen in to the call of the action with Don Stevens on 95.7 FM/950 AM ESPN Rochester.
