Okposo undergoes successful knee surgery

The Buffalo Sabres announced on Friday that forward Kyle Okposo underwent successful surgery this week and is expected to make a full recovery in the next six weeks.

The 32-year-old just completed his fourth season with the Sabres, where he appeared in 52 of a possible 69 games with nine goals and 10 assists for 19 points. He missed time this season due to another concussion, as well as a separate upper-body injury.

In his four years in Buffalo, Okposo has not been able to stay completely healthy, only playing in 271 of a possible 315 games. In that time, he has scored 57 goals and registered 80 assists for 137 points.

The Sabres signed Okposo as a free agent on July 1, 2016 to a seven-year contract with an average annual value of $6 million. He has three years remaining on his contract with the Sabres.
