NASCAR star Bowyer visits One Bills Drive

July 19, 2018

NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series driver Clint Bowyer stopped by New Era Field on Thursday afternoon to help promote the upcoming Go at The Glen race at Watkins Glen International.

Bowyer received a behind-the-scenes tour of the Buffalo Bills' facilities from Steve Tasker, including the Field House, locker rooms and the New Era Field playing surface. During the tour, Bowyer met with Bills general manager Brandon Beane and the pair did a jersey/shirt swap. Bowyer received a No. 1 Bills jersey with his name on the back, while Beane got a Rush Truck Stops/Stewart Haas Racing crew shirt from Bowyer. He also appeared with Tasker and Andrew Peters on One Bills Live on WGR.

The jersey will likely not make it to Bowyer's closet because his wife, Lorra, is originally from Penn Yan, N.Y. and is a huge Bills fan.

"She grew up a Bills fan and she's always got Buffalo Bills sweatpants on, it doesn't matter where we go she'll have those on," said Bowyer.

Bowyer, in his second season with Stewart-Haas Racing, is enjoying a resurgence this year with his first two Cup Series wins since 2012, and is currently sixth in points.
