Fresh off their trying loss to the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday evening, the Buffalo Bills were headed back to the practice field Monday afternoon at 4:45 p.m.  Head coach Sean McDermott met with the media ahead of the practice to discuss the state of the quarterback battle, as well as a quick injury update as the Bills can see the light at the end of the preseason tunnel.

Here are some of the notable quotes from Buffalo's head coach.

McDermott on the quarterback situation after three preseason games:

"No further QB developments from last night."

McDermott on the big picture:

"The ultimate goal is to know who your starting QB is going into the spring."

McDermott on the offensive line:

"There's a lot of hands in that cookie jar. The ball has to come out on time. There is a shared result in that entire situation."

McDermott on Josh Allen's performance:

"Overall, the numbers didn't show a great performance. That being said, though, there is a lot of things that go into that. I liked his poise in the pocket to an extent."

McDermott on Tremaine Edmunds:

"[Edmunds] played well. You saw the game come to him a little more. Made some players in the run game and the passing game. He surely showed up."

McDermott also gave an injury update, which was brief. Quarterback A.J. McCarron is expected to return to full contact, full-action practice after being limited the past handful of days with a sore shoulder/collarbone, and linebacker Julian Stanford is week-to-week after suffering a nose injury on Sunday.
