McDermott on Cordy Glenn starting: "Opportunity is there for him"

October 16, 2017

Buffalo Football Monday wouldn't be complete without Bills head coach Sean McDermott. The Bills are at 3-2 coming out of the bye week, and are preparing for the 2-3 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, at home on Sunday. Jameis Winston may not play with an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder. Ryan Fitzpatrick would start if he can't go.

Here's some of the best from McDermott's visit with the guys:

On taking in games around the league during the bye:
"Lot of great situational football to learn from, I was taking notes in my phone since Thursday night really."

On Cordy Glenn dressing, but not playing against the Bengals:
"Plan was to dress him, start Dion Dawkins. Allow him to get his mind around playing, and gave him another week and the bye week to get better. Opportunity is there for him to start at left tackle."

Regarding the depth at offensive tackle with the return on Seantrel Henderson:
"With Seantrel, with Jordan, with Cordy, with Dion, we have a bunch of guys all with good skill sets, all have played in games. It's a good problem to have. Seantrel has been out, conditioning is a question mark at this point."

On analytics:
I like that information, that's certainly an aide in our decision, but it does not make the decision for us."
