Injury updates on White, Hyde, Bush, and Texans quarterback Watson

October 11, 2018

Buffalo Bills’ defenders Micah Hyde, Rafael Bush, and Tre’Davious White were all limited once again at practice on Thursday. After practice, head coach Sean McDermott said the trio all got “some” work in during the session, but called them all day-to-day.

“We’ve got to move that thing forward as we go down through the week here,” McDermott said.

Safeties Hyde (groin) and Bush (shoulder) both missed last week’s win over the Tennessee Titans. Dean Marlowe started next to Jordan Poyer, and both played every defensive snap. On Monday, Marlowe was released, then brought back to the practice squad on Wednesday after clearing waivers. That could be a good indication that McDermott feels either Hyde, Bush, or both will be available for Sunday’s game at the Houston Texans.

White had a flare-up of an ankle injury at Monday’s practice, but there doesn’t seem to be too much concern over his availability for Sunday. Guard John Miller was a new addition to the injury report Thursday with an ankle issue. The final injury report and game status for each player will be released after practice Friday.

In the meantime, there still seems to be some question surrounding the status of Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson for Sunday’s contest. After declaring he would be playing on Monday, Watson has been limited in both practices this week as he deals with a chest injury.

The Texans listed eight players as either “limited” or “did not practice” on Thursday.

If Watson is unable to play, veteran Brandon Weeden would start against the Bills. When asked about the situation Wednesday, according to the Houston Chronicle, Weeden said, "I've been doing this long enough to understand how this whole thing works. I'll be ready. Hopefully, he'll be ready to rock and roll and come out and be efficient."
