Glenn misses second practice this week with foot/ankle soreness

November 8, 2017

Cody Glenn’s foot/ankle soreness is once again causing him to be sidelined from practice.

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott said Wednesday that the offensive tackle won’t practice for the second time this week as the team gets ready to face the 6-2 New Orleans Saints in Orchard Park on Sunday. Glenn also missed Monday’s practice when the team got back to work following their 34-21 loss to the New York Jets Thursday night. He was seen working with trainers off to the side on Monday.

Glenn missed multiple weeks of training camp and preseason action with soreness in the same foot and ankle area. He received a shot as part of his recovery and was able to start in the team’s opening game back in September. However, Glenn missed games in weeks three and four against the Broncos and Falcons, respectively, due to the same injury. In Week 5 at Cincinnati, he suited up but did not play any offensive snaps. Rookie Dion Dawkins started in his place in all three contests.

Glenn returned to the Bills lineup in week seven after the team’s bye. He started that game against the Buccaneers and the next two, against the Raiders and Jets. But now, Glenn’s status is unknown for Sunday’s game against a Saints team that has won six games in a row after starting 0-2.

McDermott also said rookie wide receiver Zay Jones won’t practice Wednesday as he recovers from a knee injury suffered last Thursday night. Jones was tripped in the first half and appeared to hyperextend his knee. He missed the rest of the half only to return to the field after halftime, but left once again due to the same injury. He didn't finish the game.

Tight end Charles Clay, out since the Bengals game with a knee injury, and cornerback E.J. Gaines, who has missed the last two contests with a hamstring injury, will both be limited Wednesday.
