Gamenight: Sabres trail Minnesota 2-0 early in first period

Two goals less than three minutes into the game have given the Minnesota Wild a 2-0 lead over the Sabres in the opening period. Check back throughout the game for updates.

Nino Niederreiter scored his eleventh goal of the season, coming just over a minute into the game to give the Wild a 1-0 lead. Mikael Granlund and Mikko Koivu were credited with the assists on the goal. Just a minute and six seconds later Daniel Winnik doubled the Minnesota lead to 2-0. The two goals came on just three shots for the home team. Winnik's fourth goal of the season was assisted by Nate Prosser and Marcus Foligno.
