Fedun clears waivers, sent to Rochester

February 19, 2017
With the blue line returning to full health, the Buffalo Sabres had placed defenseman Taylor Fedun on waivers on Saturday before their matchup with the St. Louis Blues.

24-hours later, Fedun has cleared waivers and been assigned to the Rochester Americans in the American Hockey League.

Fedun had no goals and seven assists in 25 games played this season in the NHL with Buffalo. Fedun has been a healthy scratch for the Sabres in six of the last nine games with players like Zach Bogosian and Cody Franson returning from injury.

Fedun's return will certainly be welcomed in Rochester as the Amerks have been lacking quality defensive help throughout the season. Fedun has four goals and 13 assists in 20 games played, and has been Rochester's leading scorer among defensemen since his recall by the Sabres on January 3rd.

Rochester currently sits in last place in the AHL with a 20-29-0-2 record in 51 games this season. They will take on the Binghamton Senators at 5 p.m. on Sunday at Blue Cross Arena. Then Rochester will play Wednesday night in Buffalo at the KeyBank Center when they host the Utica Comets.
