The pick in return for Newhouse has yet to be specified, but it is being reported as a pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The Bills felt they have the proper depth in order to trade Newhouse to Carolina, a team Buffalo has made three trades with in 13 months. However, to be sure, they added Sirles, a fifth year player who has 15 starts and 30 games played in the NFL.

The Panthers were in the market for an offensive tackle with injuries to Ryan Kalil and Daryl Williams before the season started.
