Dodson was not on the Bills' 53-man roster, but had been on the commissioner's exempt list since September 1. The first game he'll be eligible to play in is against the Philadelphia Eagles on October 28.

The suspension comes after Dodson took a plea deal, pleading guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct in a domestic violence incident in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Dodson was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M. He had 19 tackles in the preseason.
