The Buffalo Bills got back into the win column with a dominating performance by the defense and a late game-winning drive from the offense. The Bills improve to 2-3 on the 2018 season by edging out the Tennessee Titans 13-12 at a noisy New Era Field on Sunday.

The Bills defense showed up again this week with Tremaine Edmunds and Shaq Lawson forcing fumbles on the Titans and Taron Johnson getting an interception, stalling the Titans, who managed just four field goals on the afternoon.

There wasn't mush offense coming from either team, but Bills running back LeSean McCoy did carry the ball 25 times for 85 yards in a stark contrast to his lack of usage early in the season. Josh Allen did not have a great day in the air with just 10-of-19 passes completed for 82 yards and an interception, but he ran the ball four times for 19 yards, including the only touchdown of the game as he dove for the endzone on a 14-yard run in the first quarter.

The Bills were able to put up the early points on the board after a Matt Milano fumble recovery on the Titans' first offensive drive. It was Allen who capped off the Bills' first drive with his 14-yard touchdown run to give the Bills a 7-0 lead.

The Titans did respond with a field goal after having a drive start at the Bills' 25-yard line, but Buffalo's defense held on to force Ryan Succop to kick a 27-yard field goal to make it 7-3.

The Bills then got an interception from Johnson, but the Bills came up empty after punter Corey Bojorquez botched the hold on a field goal attempt. Succop added a 54-yard field goal to help the Titans end the first half with the Bills leading 7-6.

Buffalo's defense wasn't done yet as Lawson wound up stripping the ball from running back Dion Lewis and Jordan Poyer fell on the ball to set the Bills up for another field goal to extend their lead to 10-6.

While the Titans added two more field goals by Succop to finally take the lead, 12-10, the Bills got one more drive with the chance to win the game late. With a large dose of LeSean McCoy and Chris Ivory, the Bills ate the last 4:43 off the clock to set up Stephen Hauschka for the 46-yard game winning field goal as time expired.

The Bills will next travel to Houston next Sunday to face the Texans at NRG Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. and can be heard on WGR with John Murphy, Mark Kelso and Sal Capaccio on the call.
